Conatus Sponte's Magical Resources
Aura
Conatus Sponte lies within an interesting pattern of aurae. Most of the covenant, including the laboratories of the magi, lies in an area of significant, although not dnagerous, magical power (Magical Aura 5). Certain areas are verily thrumming with eldritch forces (Magical Aura 6), and the magi have established a small laboratory (underground, of course) for the more efficient extraction of Vim vis in one of these; others are peculiarly bereft of any taint of the mystical (Magical Aura 0). The magi have also discovered that the strength of their aura is intimately linked to the Alignments du Carnac, a vast array of standing stones that are nearby.
Magical Items
The covenant has been working to augment its supply of magical items.
The Illuminated Cavern
This is not a magical item, instead it is an enchantment tied to the structure of the covenant's underground areas. It provides bright illumination throughout the entire structure. The effect subsides in the evening to permit sleep; those who seek to work through the night must provide their own light.
(Enchanted by the covenant's founding magi)
The Eternal Spring
Soon after the covenant's foundation, the magi created this water source in the upper reaches of the covenant. Water from the sea-caves is brought to the top of the covenant and the salt removed. It flows down the side of the hill in a steady trickle.
(Enchanted by the covenant's founding magi)
The Swift Traveller's Cloak
This cloak was created using non-Hermetic magic to aid in the speedy and safe travel of long distances. It essentially functions to make the wearer invisible while also moving them very fast (instantly) to their desired location, much like the Hermetic "Seven League Stride". However, one cannot cross anything that one could not normally cross on foot. The capabilities of the cloak have not been tested extensively yet.
(Recovered, with the consent of the owner, in Autumn 1355 A.A. from the tomb of Margot, an ancient pre-Hermetic wizard. Investigated by Phoca.)
The Stone from Golgut's Tower
This stone comes from the tower of one of the twin giants that used to live in Bretagne in legendary times. The stone has been cut into a sphere and permanently enchanted by Teuthras to serve as an Arcane Connection to the tower, to aid in the collection of Rego vis.
(Enchanted in Winter 1357 A.A. by Teuthras.)
The Dagger of Cruelty
This nasty looking dagger was recovered from the rising-and-sinking island by Ffaelynn and Teuthras. Teuthras investigated it in the laboratory and encountered several strange results before, on a hunch, exerting his spells of daemonic control over it. By commanding the dagger to reveal itself to him, Teuthras discovered the true, and Infernal, nature of the item. It contains a minor Infernal demon. Teuthras has bound it within a circle in his sanctum until a permanent containment solution can be arrived at.
(Recovered in Summer 1358 A.A. from the "source" of the spring on the mundane level of the rising-and-sinking island. Investigated by Teuthras.)
Quintus' Quill of Literal Clarity
A quill enchanted by Quintus and Idonia. The magics provided by Quintus enhances any user's clarity of style (+3 Communication, up to a maximum of +5 for any writing task) and the magic provided by Idonia ensures that the quill does not need sharpening and will not wear down.
(Enchanted in Winter 1368 A.A. by Quintus and Idonia.)
The Alluring Net
A fishing net which encourages fish to jump into its strands. A single use typically fills a fishing boat.
(Enchanted in Winter 1371 A.A. by Phoca.)
The Faerie Eye
A circlet with a gemmed eye held within it. When worn, the Eye supplants the sight of the wearer's left eye. The Eye allows one to see distant places with which one is passingly familiar, including a section of Arcadia (which requires no familiarity). Anyone wearing the Eye also benefits as if they had faerie eyes and so can see on all but the darkest nights, and may see through faerie glamours (Faerie Sight 10).
(Taken from the scene of a faerie confrontation, Spring 1372 A.A. Investigated by Teuthras.)
The Stone Net
A net seemingly woven from rock. It was used in a faerie confrontation.

The Faerie Wizard's Hand
This is the hand of one of the combatants from the strange duel witnessed by the magi in Spring 1372. It was struck, during the combat, from its owner's arm. Teuthras believes that it belongs to Quendalon, the originator of the Merinita tradition of faerie magic.

Vis Sources
- A small stone circle one the covenant grounds has flowers that grow within it all-year-round. These flowers can be harvested, throughout the year, for a total of ten pawns of Creo vis.
- One of the large salt pools that lie in the sandy ground of the covenant produces curiously coloured crystals in the Summer that contain fifteen pawns of Muto vis.
- In the city of Vannes there is a hospice for the lepers of the region. The atrophied body-parts of these unfortunates may be harvested for Perdo vis, although there is no guarantee of the quantity of the vis and some years none at all is produced. Teuthras generally extracts the magical essences from these grisly remains so that they may be stored more wholesomely.(For the vis production, roll a ten-sided die. On a "1" no vis is produced, otherwise produce a number of pawns equal to the die roll.)
- Along the Roman road that passes by the covenant, near a small town there lies a valley. On either side of this valley stand ancient towers of stone that are said to have been built and occupied by a pair of giant-brothers. One of these towers, that which was said to belong to the giant Golgut, deflects the summer lightnings. Each of the bolts that is deflected produces one pawn of Rego vis. Experimentation has shown that up to six pawns of vis can be gained in this way in Spring and Summer, for a total of twelve pawns of Rego vis each year. No vis can be obtained in Autumn or Winter.
- The goats of the covenant are all shorn on midsummer's eve and the wool which is collected contains ten pawns of Animal vis.
- On the seaward-side of the cliff there are numerous crevices where various seaweeds and shellfish grow. In a certain crevice in the Spring a "mermaid's necklace" of seaweed can be found which contains ten pawns of Aquam vis.
- Near the stone circle there lies the source of a stream that provides the covenant with water. Hungis, a small aquatic drake, resides in the spring and will blink languidly at any visitors. At irregular times Hungis will be joined by a peculiarly blue fish. If this fish is caught it can be found to contain four pawns of Aquam vis. Only one such fish appears in any given year, although its timing it erratic. Teuthras has been known to offer a regular incentive to any of the young convenfolk who can catch it.
- High on the cliff that contains the main covenant areas there is a certain rock formation. The winds that blow through these rocks have become the dwelling place of Authis, the last of the elemental drakes to be adjured by Teuthras. This drake enjoys dancing in the breeze, preferably amongst an array of brightly coloured flags. Provided these flags are changed each season, to ensure their novelty, four pawns of Auram vis may be taken from the discarded flags.
- One of Teuthras first important acts upon joining the covenant of Conatus Sponte was to adjure a small elemental dragonet that goes by the name Pukis. This small and inquisitive creature lives in the fireplace of the greathall and, provided the fire is kept burning all-year-round, the ashes collected from the grate contain four pawns of Ignem vis.
- The circle of standing stones is also the dwelling place of Ferris, a minor drake of the earth. Ferris has a habit of "rolling stones" whereby he mauls and rolls them about until they become as perfectly spherical as is earthly possible. These spheres, of various small sizes, often contain small quantities of Terram vis. By gathering a large assortment of the spheres, four pawns of Terram vis can be obtained.
Vis Distribution
Orfeo has been deemed missing by the majority of the covenant. His vis privileges have been suspended until his return. If and when he does return the other members will vote to determine what amount of vis he is entitled to. His personal stocks have been left unmolested.

- One pawn each to Phoca, Teuthras, Quintus, Rene, Idonia, and Iohannes. Four pawns into the covenant stocks.
- Muto

- Perdo
