Covenants of the Tribunal

Ad Vis Per Veritas
Symbol: ?
Season: Summer/Autumn
House Affiliation: none
Location: North-eastern France, somewhere near Crecy.
Members:

A moderately strong covenant that seems to be fighting off its passage into Autumn.
Outlook/Agenda: Ad Vis Per Veritas was built near a corrupted Tytalus covenant after its dissolution, initially to ensure that the Order would control the area's resources. The members of the covenant persue their own agendas, although they are still more concerned with purging the Infernal than most magi.

Amberite
Symbol: A triangle comprised of three triangles comprised each of three triangles
Season: Winter
House Affiliation: Criamon (Cult of Twilight)
Location: Near Blois, along the R. Loire.
Members:

Agenda/Outlook: This covenant consists of a small clutch of three Criamon magi who appear to have little interest in the political goings-on of the Tribunal. The covenant is located near Blois, in the province of Anjou.

Conatus Sponte
Symbol: A Promethean brand emerging from a cave in a hill
Season: Spring/Summer
House Affiliation: none
Location: The coast of Brittany, a little over a day's wagon trip north from Vannes.
Members:

Formerly a Winter covenant, that seems to have passed through Spring and is again verging on Summer. The home of the players in this saga. More information about the inhabitants can be found on the Population of Conatus Sponte page.

Cyllene
Symbol: A crescent moon turned to form an arch
Season: Summer
House Affiliation: none
Location: Brittany, half way from Rennes to Nantes.
Members:

Cyllene benefits from some curious architectural techniques which are said to enhance its rather weak natural aura.
Outlook/Agenda: So far as anyone can gather, the magi here may be interested in the interaction of Mundane, Magic and Faerie. Possibly they want to create a Grand Unified Theory of the middle realms, or possibly not.

Fudarus
Symbol: ?
Season: Domus Magna
House Affiliation: Tytalus
Location: A short distance from La Rochelle.
Members:

The domus magna of House Tytalus. The Tribunal's praeco Bulistius resides here and serves as its princeps. Many of the members of the covenant are abroad, involved in their conflict games.
Agenda/Outlook: Master all forms of conflict.

Illa Turris Aquarum Effluentium
Symbol: A faerie tower, surmounted by a golden crown, rising from water
Season: Summer/Autumn
House Affiliation: Merinita
Location: The Loire, Massif Central (near St. Ettienne?)
Members:

"The Tower of Flowing Waters"
The idea behind this one is that the Loire is the longest river in France, so it has to have some occult significance, right? I assume that the river has a faerie 'prince', who has various tributary 'lords' who rule the Loire's tributaries for him. The covenant is near the prince's court in the Massif Central, in some falls (if there are any appropriate one, otherwise something else that is neat).
Outlook/Agenda: This covenant is fairly focuse on the maintanence and exploitation of the river, and sometimes is involved with faerie politics.//

Locronan
Symbol: A hand grasping an eye
Season: Destroyed (formerly Autumn)
House Affiliation: Ex Miscellenea
Location: Brittany, near Quimper (now destroyed).
Members:

The ruins of an Autumn covenant located in Western Bretagne, near the mundane city of Quimper and the mythical city of Ys. This covenant was opposed to the convenant of Conatus Sponte because of a rivalry between some of the founders of both covenants. This rivalry had continued, despite the efforts of the new magi of Conatus Sponte. The former home of Erwan
Looks like this covenant is no more! (Unless you count the "tree-wizard").
Agenda/Outlook: To promote the interests of their faerie patron, Avonaelf. Apparently to irritate Conatus Sponte, too.

Manumittere Per Vis
Symbol: A thunderbolt emanating from the ground
Season: Summer/Autumn
House Affiliation: none
Location: North-easern Brittany, near Lehon.
Members:

A covenant located in North-Eastern Bretagne near the city of Lehon. The septennial Tribunals have traditionally been held here, although this appears to have changed recently. Sliding rapidly into Autumn.
Outlook/agenda: The magi here are often keen to earn favors with others, to which end they may act as mentors or patrons. Their goal, naturally, is to do as little as possible themselves.

Mea Mens Mea Arx Est
Symbol: A keep atop a human skull.
Season: Summer/Autumn
House Affiliation: Tremere
Location:The Cotentin peninsula, on a headland thrust into the Channel.
Members:

"My Will Is My Fortress"
The basic idea for this covenant is that it is a wind-swept Norman keep on the coast. The keep is built on a headland, which is said to be the skull of a truly titanic giant. The keep is an allodial land which is held by the princeps of the covenant (who inherited it).
Two retainers have traveled with Misericordia in the past: an especially unkempt hunter (Jacques) and a girl in torn finery (Michelle).

Mont-Sainte-Genevieve
Symbol: An open book, in front of a large building
Season: Summer?
House Affiliation: Jerbiton
Location: Outside Paris
Members:

A Summer covenant of Jerbiton that is deeply involved with a university on the outskirts of Paris. These magi seem rather idealistic at times.
Outlook/Agenda: Be friendly and happy, both with magi and mundanes. Share knowledge of arts, philosophae and humanity.

Porta Cornea
Symbol: An arched entrance, the door on the left opening.
Season: Autumn
House Affiliation: Guernicus (although run by a Jerbiton).
Location: near Limoges, in the South of the Tribunal.
Members:

The Yvette's rumored interest in dream-interpretation attracted Laurentius to Porta Cornea. Curiously, it is his habit to cause all the trees within covenant grounds to lose their leaves on the same day, to reduce the disturbances in the autumnal night airs.

Quaternae Sagittae Solis Occidentis
Symbol: A red sun, framed by four arrows.
Season: Spring/Summer
House Affiliation: none (Legion of Mithras)
Location: The French Channel, perhaps?
Members:

"Four Arrows of the Sunset"
Some new antagonists perhaps? Or some strange allies?
Outlook/Agenda: Be prepared (?)

Sapienta Aetatum
Symbol: Two cocks facing one another, holding knives
Season: Winter
House Affiliation: Ex. Miscellenea
Location: Vimes, between Nantes and La Rochelle.
Members:

A curious covenant in a the Karaite Jewish quarter of the city of Vimes in the province of Poitou. Many of the "magi" are in fact practicioners of curious Jewish magic. Has had some positive contact with Conatus Sponte.
Outlook/Agenda: Conservative and strange, but willing to trade vis. Not very talkative.

Taberna Ultramontanorum - Mercere House
Symbol: ?
Season: Summer?
House Affiliation: Mercere
Location: Between the Loire and the Seine, roughly east of Dijon.
Members:

This covenant is also known as the mundane "Apple Tavern", an unusually sizable inn.

Outlook and Agenda: The covenant supports House Mercere's goal to maintain the Order. It also encourages entertainers and artists.

Wanderers and Hermits

Some of the wanderers and hermits of the Tribunal. Wanderers have a "home covenant" which they regularly visit to recieve news and messages.

Sessions of the Tribunal

1360 - held at Manumittere Per Vis

The Accusation of Orbus de Ignis
A wandering magus, Orbus de Ignis, was accused of destroying some mundanes near the covenant of Fudarus by Foedus, a magus of Fudarus. Orbus de Ignis was not present at the session. and so Foedus proposed that Orbus de Ignis be tried in absentia. Salax of Manumittere Per Vis defended Orbus de Ignis, stating that he was innocent of any wrongdoing, that he was visiting sodales in Tribunal Germania, and that this was another of Fudarus' frequent machinations. It was then proposed that the matter be delayed until the next session of Tribunal Gallia Transalpina and that Orbus de Ignis be summoned to attend this session to face the accusations. This proposition was put to the vote, and passed. After this result Foedus withdrew his accusation.
Ambrosius' Request
Ambrosius of Sapienta Aetatum asked the representatives of the covenants of Tribunal Gallia Transalpina for permission to search their territories for an apprentice. He stated that he was seeking an individual with some kind of musical gift to assist with his research into that area. At this point Foedus of Fudarus stated that this proposal was beneath the interest of the Tribunal Gallia Transalpina as-a-whole and that Ambrosius should not waste time with his personal business. Foedus then challenged Ambrosius to certamen over the issue and was defeated in a competition of certamen involving the arts of Rego and Mentem. Ambrosius then restated his proposal and promised to pay each covenant that granted him permission half a rook of Muto vis. Several covenants agreed to this, and Ambrosius deemed the matter complete.
A Tribunal-wide Pact of Unity
Isabel of Mont-Sainte-Genevieve proposed a pact to unite the covenants of Tribunal Gallia Transalpina in the pursuit of knowledge and put an end to petty conflicts. Isabel cited the examples of Tribunal Hispania and Tribunal Caledonia to support her case. Hominas Calamitas of Fudarus responded to this by stating the examples presented by Isabel fail to take into consideration the local conditions of those Tribunals. Hominas Calamitas then continued and stated any such pact would require enforcement and that who did Isabel consider should be responsible for this enforcement. The proposal was then put to the vote, and failed.
The Larta Magi Affair
The initiation of three larta magi by the covenant of Mont-Sainte-Genevieve provoked an outburst from Quintus Querte of Conatus Sponte. Quintus Querte proposed that larta magi threatened the integrity of the Order, and that no further larta magi should be initated in the Tribunal Gallia Transalpina. A furious debate ensued, principally involving Quintus Querte, with help from Hominas Calamitas of Fudarus, on one side; and Rene of Conatus Sponte, with help from Isabel of Mont-Sainte-Genevieve, on the other. Eventually the proposition was put to the vote, and passed. No further larta magi are to be initated in the Tribunal Gallia Transalpina.
Initiations into the Order of Hermes
Mertius, former apprentice of Bulistius of Fudarus, was initiated the Order of Hermes as a member of the House of Tytalus.

1366 - held at Conatus Sponte

Initiations into the Order of Hermes
Nimue, former apprentice of Willet Ex Miscellania, was initiated into the order as a member of the House Ex Miscellania.

1374 - held at Conatus Sponte

The Disappearance of Locronan
The Ruling Quaesitor, having been informed about the disappearance of Locronan by the magi of Conatus Sponte, informed the Tribunal Gallia Transalpina that investigations would be taking place and swore to report any findings at the next session.

1381 - held at Conatus Sponte
Issues due to arise:
:The Disappearance of Locronan:

The restoration of Saturnius
The claim of certain vis sources by Mea Mens Mea Arx Est
This claim to be brought up at tribunal so that the quaesitores may confirm that the source does not belong to Locronan.
