People

A list of characters involved, or encountered, in the game. Recently encountered individuals will be added, as they are met (or... er, killed...).

The Cadre

Sir Kyle Hawkwood, a Hawkwood knight
A persuasive and perceptive young nobleman; he commands strange powers in the service of his House and is accompanied by a beautiful swordswoman who serves as his bodyguard.
Sister Lilith, a Protos of the Sanctuary Aeon
A beautiful Amalthean theurgist; something of an ice princess with her pale hair and regal manner.
Commander Steve 'Stryke' Jones of the Charioteer's Guild
A skilled pilot with a big gun and a big mouth. View Stryke's Bio
Frank Hawke, Entered in the Supreme Order of the Engineers
A scarred starship's engineer with a distant look in his remaining human eye.
Sister Thessaly Encarmine, of an undiscussed Orthodox monastic order
A quiet woman with perchant for turning up, heavily armed, as if out of nowhere.

Friends, Foes, and Accquaintances

Aboard the luxury liner Maiden of Saiwuhn

Her Excellency, Chingmy Li-Halan, a Li Halan Viscountess
A quirky, yet famed, duellist and diplomat; recently rewarded with a viscounty for her efforts to advance her royal house. Has a (now somewhat more permanently) unsettled affair of honour with Kagato.
Tenzing Chusharwa, a Supervisor of the Imperial Eye Operations Directorate
A tastefully-suited gentleman, with an equally tastefully-suited entourage, encountered on the Maiden of Saiwuhn. Escaped from that ship during the pirate attack in Maiden of Saiwuhn, Shuttle I after cooperating with the cadre. Now known to not be a Reeve, but one of the Emperor's spy-masters. Claims to be investigating high-tech smuggling operations in the Rampart system.

On Aeneas, Rampart System

Sister Elspeth Mackenzie, a Prthvi-Sant and Deacon of the Sanctuary Aeon
Keeper of the main hospice in New Carthage on the planet of Aeneas in the Rampart system. A minor, and somewhat mousy, theurgist but a skilled and compassionate administrator.
Tav-3 Shelit
A "baron-equivalent" from Vera Cruz who seems to be involved in a bewildering array of schemes. Sports an extremely sleek cybernetic arm, some radio-telepathy device, and a bunch of blank-faced minions.
Kaf-2 Shelit
A member of Tav-3 Shelit's retinue. First encountered at the redeemed BioAg? Model Farm. Seems to be some kind of think-machine expert. Recently received a promotion to '2' for the redemption of a war-golem.
Tet-1 Shelit
Formerly known as Eng-0 Shelit. First encountered masquerading as on of the curiously blank minions of Tav-3 Shelit. Apparently not as dumb as he looks.
Lord Admiral Koxinga Li Halan, a Li Halan Baronet and star-navy Admiral
Governor of Aeneas and veteran of the Emperor Wars. A stern militarist who brooks little dissent, but maintains a veneer of courteous civility.
The Wind That Preceeds the Dragon of the North
Apparently some sort of scary pre-Conversion Li-Halan bad-man. Scary. Seeking to "speak a sutra of misery", whatever that means.
Amarante Birac
Daughter of the former Academician of Rampart, and apparently not killed in a tragic starship accident a few months ago.

On Rampart, Rampart System

His Grace, Rollo Paulus, an Orthodox Bishop
Bishop of the Cathedral of St. Paulus in Avaneir. A moderate Orthodox theologian of the Mahayana school and a member of the Red Priesthood, Rollo seeks to find a balance between the political and social ideals of freedom and obedience. Provided Mother Lilith (and party) with a letter of introduction to the Zhi Su.
Pierre Birac, a Consul of the Reeves' Guild
Birac was formerly an Academician, and the leader of the democratically elected government of Rampart's senate - before the Li Halan invasion. He surrendered to the House forces once the tide of the war turned against the Republicans and was spared any serious term of imprisonment. He retains some of his connections, but devotes most of his time to writing his memoirs and lamenting about his failures. He remains passionate about the safety of his daughter, Amarante, who was widelt believed to have been killed in a starship accident but has been discovered to be the captive of Tav-3 Shelit on Aeneas. Birac, a firm believer in paying ones' debts, has promised the cadre that he will reward them for her safe return, despite any protestations of altruism on their part.
"Ephraim"
A fixer of sorts for the Rampart Resistance who has employed the cadre in transporting other Republican sympathisers. Has some (now) very jumpy minders thanks to Frank the Engineer's Urge-fuelled antics but seems optimistic about the cadre's future as taxi to the revolution.
"Imhotep"
A former chemical engineer for a minor guild on Rampart, now a bomb-maker for the Rampart Resistance. The cadre moved him, and some suspicious crates, from Rampart to a safehouse on the Chevalier. Seems like a nice enough chap, all things considered.

The Dead

Ex-cadre members

His Excellency, Kagato Vecina Li-Halan III, a Li Halan Baronet
A sullen, yet darkly charismatic noble; a duellist of some skill, but less acclaim. Killed, by Sister Thessaly's neural disruptor, when discovered attempting to obliterate the Amalthean Hospice in New Carthage. Posthumuously (and accurately) elected a minion of Antinomian forces by the cadre.

The rest

Barry
A hapless gossip-monger in the New Carthaginian merchant spaceport. Brutally murdered by Dougal Macleod-Hasegawa over a misunderstanding caused by Stryke's inexpert attempts at deception. Poor chap. Cheers for the fix, T; you don't need to mark all edits as edits though, the wiki keeps a history of all changes.
Dougal Macleod-Hasegawa, a Boss of the Hasegawa family of the Scraver's Guild
The "lord" of the underworld on the planet Aeneas, in the Rampart system. Large, noisy, and cheerfully ultraviolent. Shot in the back while attempting to flee during the Imperial Eye assault on the Macleod-Hasegawa Syndicate. A bad end to a bad man.
