Sertorius has departed the Covenant for the collegiate home of the Iberian Covenant where he was apprenticed. He helped found the Covenant and was instrumental in defending it on several occasions against as well as locating a number of the Vis sources it has access to.
A Quick Background
Sertorius originally had to flee the covenant of his apprenticeship with only what he could carry, a sword, armour a meager supply of 20 pawns of Vis, his Brass ring and a book stolen from his master. This was the direct result of his assertiveness. In a final challenge with his master Sertorius used not only his magic abilities but, in addition, stabbed him with his sword, which he calls Aias and – though the wound was not mortal and will not invoke any vows of vengeance – the stroke has cost him any support from his master or master’s covenant. Therefore, Sertorius has set out with only his wits, strength of arms and magic; but this does not trouble him in the slightest, Sertorius seeks only greater challenges as he begins life in his new covenant new recruit Mŕili, by his side.
A Cathar, Sertorius’ religious beliefs are not an entrenched code which he lives by, rather they are a guide which he often chooses to acknowledge but just as often ignore. But, he does though take a dim view of those who would attack the more pious of his faith and will act if he is witness to or hears of individuals attacking his co-religionists.
His often aggressive approach to solving problems comes from his early years growing up in a region beset by violence between the Moors and Spaniards and then fostered amongst the belligerence of his covenant and apprenticeship to a member of House Tytalus. His Master for fifteen years, Gaius Marius Cicero, had not been the most pleasant of masters, always pushing Sertorius to the limits –sometimes violently – not that Sertorius noticed this pushing as anything other than the normal way things are done and he developed into an aggressive and assertive Magus, only the combination of his Albigense beliefs and his innate loyalty to those he holds an affection for especially – Cruz – moderate his actions.
In the last two-years of his apprenticeship Sertorius found a wolf-cub while exploring the surrounds of his covenant (in the South-East of the Iberian Tribunal). The cubs mother and siblings had been slaughtered by hunters but the youngest of them had survived unnoticed as his mother had died lying on him. Sertorius has spent much time rearing the young wolf and he has grown into a strong and loyal companion, though not shrugging off all of his inborn ferocity. The wolf, Cruz spends most of his time in close proximity to Sertorius but on occasion vanishes for extended periods of up to a month.

Flaws Sertorius has an animal companion, the wolf Cruz. His magic is Weird Magic. He is Reckless in his approach to all things. His magic is also Chaotic Magic. Sertorius believes that he can handle anything, this is some-times mistaken as being Over-Confident. Nothing fazes Sertorius and he is Carefree. In addition he is Wrathful towards those who would attack those of his faith.
Virtues Sertorius is Confident he can handle most things. He is lightning Fast with Casting spells in combat. He is a Descendant of Pegasus and, as a result has a Magical Focus on flying (Minor magical focus). He also has Lightning Reflexes. An Affinity with his favoured Art, the technique of Muto. An Affinity with using the single-weapon, especially the long-sword. He is Inoffensive to animals and has substantially Improved Statistics.
Equipment Sertorius wears bright Chain Mail and well-oiled leather armour. He carries his sword, Aias in, a scabbard on his right-hip. His left shoulder bares a guard emblazoned with red and gold colours. On his back is a quiver containing fifteen arrow shafts, while behind his scabbard hangs a small leather pouch containing fifteen metallic stones. He wears a brass ring on his left index finger and owns a single book, the Little Book of the Body.
