There is a 1-to-many correspondance between 'real' tracks and MBIDs, as translations and transliterations of a album and/or track are entered seperately in the Musicbrainz database. This may be changing in the future, but should be stable for the moment, as the development staff is currently focusing on similar issues with artist names, and with the fact that the music community as a whole tends to consider the primary artist for a classical work to be it's composer, not the performer.
