Before the Sea of Fallen Stars was born, before Besheeba and Tymora lived there was one goddess of Fortune: Tyche, Mistress of Luck, both good and ill.
The Corrupter sought to taint the Mistress and bring the forces of Luck under his command. His plan was seen by the Lady Moon and she stood against her once-friend and cut her with her crescent blade. Such was the force of the blow that it shattered Tyche into the twins Tymora and Besheeba.
Such was the force of the blow that is shattered the very boundaries of the planes and sent a thrid piece of Tyche falling to Faerun in a terrible shower of falling stars.
Tyche's heart lies nearly forgotten on a bleak isle within the Sea. Yet the goddess' heart still beats. Those who seek and know its rhythym may follow its silver veins to their source.
