(Note that this is now seriously out of date, some time I'll update it properly.)

University

At the moment I am doing my masters in computer science at Otago University. I'll ideally be finishing that this year. I work in the artificial intellegence lab, with a handful of others doing all manner of random topics.

Should you be strangely interested, some of my random notes (really for my own benefit) live here. It's on genetic algorithms. They're fun to play with in a geeky way. My fourth year (PgDipSci) dissertation was on them also. If you are crazy-interested you can read it here.

Work

While I don't really have any jobs in the "real world", I have plenty to keep myself busy in holiday times, and during semester. I've done a lot of undergrad tutoring (1- and 200 level computer science papers), and currently am working for a couple of companies on an as-needed basis: Profiler Corporation, doing Java development and a few miscellanious other things, and Iso-trace working on the software that runs a mass spectrometer to allow it to run in a fully automated fashion. For each of these, there are other tasks in the pipeline.

Non-uni, non-work

Spare time stuff...there isn't a lot of time for that at the moment. I have a few Open Source projects that I work on from time to time: iRATE Radio (a music recommendation and download system), NeurosDBM (synchronisation software for the Neuros MP3 player), and, most recently, eMusic/J (a download client for the eMusic.com music download service).
