Letter to the Nobles of Osoerde following the Death of Duke Moergan
Your Graces,
It is with great sorrow and heartfelt regret that I must write to inform you of the murder of our realm's liege, Lord Haedric Moergen.
Our beloved ruler dismissed his guards for a private audience with his son and the body was discovered thirty minutes later in the late Duke's bedchambers by the household staff.
There was no sign of the young lad, William Moergen. And, his fate and role in the whole affair remains unknown.
In light of these events, the Privy Council convened the Royal Court in Moriel to consider the future of our realm and it was decided that the royal lands, titles, and offices associated with the Duchy of Osoerde should be awarded to my wife, Lady Katherine Moergen -- the late Duke's sister.
On her behalf, I would like to thank you for your friendship and support. I hope that we can continue to rely upon you as we face this terrible challenge.
Regards,
Jaison Raenech
Duke of Osoerde
