PseudoBritannia: Cast

The Cast

The protagonists, the antagonists, the choir, and the hapless bystanders.

Our Protagonists - heroes one and all

Marcel White, the musical good luck charm from Trinsic. He once was a butler.

Mirava, the swift and cunning scout from the forests of Spirithold.

Suraliha, the brave swordswoman and Seeker from a monastery high in the Shielding Range

Valicus Hunter, the wise magician trained by the mysterious Speakers of Skara Brae.

Retired Members

Robert LaRoche, an idealistic paladin from Trinsic. Robert now spends his time in Avalon, aiding the local contingent of the Society of Honour in their work and occasionally providing assistance to our heroes.

The Antagonists - rivals, scoundrels, monsters, and black-hearted villains

Lord Aidan Chanseth of Blackwood Vale near Spirithold, the disrepectful scion of an ancient line (or is he...?).

Creepy Sword-Cult in Jhelom, beneath the City Library. Real messed-up guys who worship some... thing... Might be somehow connected to the weird swirling eye that Dominic the Seneschal has now?

Grey (High?) Goblins in the mountains near Paws. A hitherto unknown civilisation that appears to have created the sword of Yeverex (who presumably was a high goblin himself). Causing trouble for Matthew.

The Umber Hulk of mines and tunnels, all he wanted was a Pepsi (or did he...?).

The Choir - folk who provide background and context by simply existing

Avalon

Celia Blake (?), of Avalon, a merchant-banker who is promoting the idea of a national bank with fixed exchange rates for lending. A middle-aged woman from a family of bankers who is well-established in the finance community. Recently elected to the Council of Avalon thanks to some sub-contracted espionage (Plausible Deniability!).

Claude, of Avalon, a handsome softly-spoken sailor who might know someone who knows someone who can arrange passage to the Den (aka a pirate!).

Geoff, of Avalon, a barkeeper at the Adventurers' Guild who is frequently enthusiastic and sometimes useful.

Master Gerson, of Avalon, a jeweller and guildsman who is highly reputed for his skill as well as his extremely precise sense of fairness and scrupulous attention to detail.

Colonel Hugo, of Avalon, the commander of the Militia of the Guild of Weavers and part of the city's volunteer watch. He doesn't like Joseph Cadarino much, has a firm handshake, and possibly a drinky problem?

Ismene, of Avalon, a pretty young-looking woman with braided dark hair, an elegant blue and white dress, and a lot of silver jewellery who is staying at the Adventurers' Guild - a magician from Moonglow and former student of Master Kell. Has turned out to be rather sneaky and manipulative, but remarkably pragmatic. Is living in a residence in Avalon and is presumably messing about with her share of Kell's estate. Totally boinked Marcel! Totally.

Joseph Cadarino, of Avalon, a former grain factor who has become a very influential banker. A moderately tall man with a sort of aura of activity about him, he seems to be larger than he is. Has some strange methods and some strange contacts. Possibly a financial wizard (literally...). Failed in his political ambitions and had to withdraw from the election after being blackmailed with information kindly provided to his rival by the heroes...

Kenneth, of Avalon, custodian of the castle.

Lime the Finder of Avalon, a dragoman and skillful piper as well as a friend to many travelers who find themselves within the walls of Avalon.

Pascal, of Avalon, a well-dressed magician with dark hair and a bit of a tense look from Moonglow who has rubbed people the wrong way; a former student of Master Kell. Has turned out to not be that bad, but is a bit emotional when it comes to the subject of the violent death of his beloved mentor, who's tower and lab he is now occupying. Is currently pursuing research into the use of magic for direct transference.

Prioress Helita, of Avalon, the leader of the Order of Swordhold's priory in Avalon; she has a reputation for being a no-nonsense leader, but always ensures that her fellow monks have a good supply of useful sundries for men and women of affairs.

Susanna the Lorist, of Avalon, originally from Glitterwater near Yew and also sometimes known by that less prestigious cognomen; a somewhat 'busy' Green Apple monk at the University of Avalon who specialises in the history of the Avalon region and who has a professional disdain for the archaeological practices of the Society of Sacrifice.

Tessa Collier, of Avalon, Yorick of Silverton's goldsmith and banker; as yet unmet, but apparently able to cash cheques. The heroes' banker-of-choice.

Tomas Linden, of somewhere but often in Avalon. A troubleshooter for the Society of Sacrifices' Aeronautical Endeavours section. Always on the lookout for new adventurous talent (!).

Wykeham of Avalon, a magician and purveyor of materia magica; he, and his raven companion Jaffers, maintain "Wykeham's Materials" on the Street of Wands in the great city. Wykeham has all sorts of magician associates and is a renowned manufacturer of wands and rods.

Jhelom

???, of Jhelom. Alojzy the Stormbreaker's (female?) captive. Seems to have weather-controlling powers which the Stormbreaker employs to create storms for him to "break". Interesting...

Alojzy the Stormbreaker, of Jhelom, a magician of some repute who is under the patronage of Count Simon Tytyk. A student of the School of Bardan and a skilled wielder of cerulean energies. Also has a penchant for electrocuting paladins. Last seen in Paws, apparently has no hard feelings towards our heroes.

Anton, of Jhelom, a knightly sort in Celestyn's service who is pretty good with a bow.

Princess Basia of Jhelom, ally of Celestyn. Her banner is a gull on white.

Prince Celestyn Adurach of Jhelom, one of several powerful magnates based in that city, who has recently become the host of the group while they attend to business there. Is positively full of fascinating revelations. His banner is a star and moon on deep blue. After succeeding in the quest of Karol's Deed he returned to Jhelom with a crown-like circlet and proclaimed himself High Prince. He seems to have won the war and united the feuding princes behind him now... but what has he had to promise in order to do so?

Crispin the Druid, of Jhelom, the member of an unspecified group within the Society of Justice, and apparently of some importance in Jhelom. His portfolio of duties also seems to include delivering slightly disturbing advice to groups of young adventurers.

Dominic the Seneschal, of Jhelom, Prince Celestyn's household administrator. Oddly well-armed for a jumped-up butler... but he is apparently a count, and this is Jhelom. Returned from the Quest of Karol's Deed with a weird swirly blue eye, that seems to bear an odd resemblance to a weird blue eye seen in disturbing sword-cult frescoes...

Chief Librarian Dorian, of Jhelom, a Yellow Apple monk and the head of the library in Jhelom. Soft-spoken, but really keen on collecting dues.

Karol, of Jhelom, an ancestral spirit who was in life the first single prince of Jhelom (or was it King of Jhelom?). Recently contacted by Valicus in Prince Celestyn's crypt.

Prince Kazimierz, of Jhelom, a younger gentleman who has some shifty retainers... His banner is a lion on blue.

Ector, of Jhelom. Acting seneschal of Prince Celestyn in Dominic's absence.

Prince Przemsyl, of Jhelom, a sneaky, diplomatic sort. His loyalties are questionable, although he eventually came out on the anti-Celestyn side after Celestyn's undertaking of the Deed of Karol heroquest. Now apparently reconciled with Celestyn. Looks uncannily like Magneto. His banner is a wolf on red.

Countess Samara Vikambr, of Jhelom, a cousin of Princess Veronika and in her service. Her banner is Veronika's oak on green, but wreathed in white flowers. Apparently in Paws?

Count Simon Tytyk, of Jhelom, a partisan of Prince Kazimierz with connections in the underworld whose residence the party infiltrated in order to retrieve certain documents. Got shot through the hand and left on his study floor to contemplate his misdeeds. His banner is an owl on grey. Apparently in Paws now?

Stanislaw, of Jhelom, Celestyn's chief magician and a war wizard from the School of Bardan. Knows siege magic, amongst other things; is purported not to know pie or carpet magic.

Princess Veronika Vikambr, of Jhelom, despite having once sworn vendetta on Prince Celestyn and his allies has now apparently accepted him as High Prince of Jhelom and currently holds the keys to Jhelom's gates on his behalf! Veronika still dresses like a warrior instead of a pretty-pretty princess (unlike certain ball-going scouts...). Her banner is an oak on green. What happened to those creepy sword-cult guys though...

Vikram the Swordsmith, of Jhelom, a member of the Society of Sacrifice, a master swordsmith, metallurgist, and collector of weaponry. Rather pricey, but has the goods.

Skarae Brae

High Speaker Procias of Skara Brae, the leader and patron of a group of magicians and priests who attend an important temple in Skara Brae.

Other

Arex, a forgeborn warrior, currently serving alongside four of his fellow-creatures under the banner of the Society of Sacrifice near Paws.

Arthur LaRoche, connected with piratical types. Has some weird ideas about politics. Interested in supporting "freelance archaeological expeditions". Recently seen in Avalon for some reason.

Celso, a long-dead zoologist who wrote (and plagiarised) extensively to create a famous bestiary.

Grumpy Seeker, a grumpy country chick who was meditating at the castle.

Matthew, of who-knows-where, the commander of a company of armed folks who are camping in the highlands near Paws, guarding a cave. Linked to the Society of Sacrifice and recently a contracted employer of the heroes. Recently lost his right arm in an attack by the high goblins but seems philosophical about it (or is that shock?).

Radha a.k.a. Mysterious Voice Lady, a.k.a Julia, who was plotting something in an upstairs room at the Green Jug in Avalon. Is a sneaky spy sort who aided Celestyn by bringing a "horse from across the sea".

Tavern Kitten, a cat. Occasionally harangues the party with MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW. May or may not be a figment of Marcel's imagination.

Yeverex, some dead person who was buried with a sword. Almost certainly not a human being.

Yorick of Silverton, a wealthy trader and owner of many chandleries in that city; richly compensated the heroes for rescuing his niece and the other caravan survivors from the ogre brigands, also has a nice house and a magical pitcher.
