Idonia filius Theodans scholae Verditius ex Einhornhöhle.
< Rene | Covenant Population | Iohannes >
Joined Conatus Sponte in Spring, 1361 A.A.
Background
The magus now known as Idonia, remembers little of her childhood until (a) she commenced study under Theodans (b), at Einhornhöhle (c)(Cave of the Unicorn) in the Harz Mountains. Her affinity for bells, which she uses as casting tools and her knowledge of the bell tones in the Cathedrals of the Mountians may provide a link to the past.
Einhornhöhle was a fine place to train a curious mind, and while skilled in a number of practical crafts, she took a particular interest to alchemy, initiating herself in the Inner Mystery of Vulgar Alchemy.
Passing her gauntlet, Idonia was satisfied to stay on at the Einhornhöhle. However her experiments in Alchemy attracted the attention of some unknown parties (d), these curious and intrusive visiting magi spurred her to anwser the call of Conatus Sponte for additional members. She travelled to Bretagne and joined Conatus Sponte in 1361.
In the Spring of 1367, neighbouring Covenant Locronan stole the Alignments du Carnac, weakening Conatus Spontes Aura. Idonias gift with Terram was essential for the return of the stones, shrinking them and returning them to their sites in the alignment, delaying open confilt with Locronan.
Since arriving at the Covenant, she has also established a local silver mine at Quiberon, Conatus Sponte collects a portion of its production. To bolster the productivity of the covenant and demonstrate her mastery over earth, Idonia created an alchemical ritual, Transformation of Dead Earth to to Bountiful Earth, to permanently enhance the properties of the Covenants soil. It was performed on Candlemas (e) 1374.
(a) It has been revealed that Idonia's brother was pledged to earth fey, her birth complicated this contract. She is begining to wonder why she has no memories of childhood outside or within the Covenant.
(b) Theodonas was an apprentice to one of the founders of the Einhornhöhle. Originally a apprentice to a silversmith in the Low-Lands, his master sold him to a magus for a large payment of Harz Silver.
(c) Einhornhöhle is a cave in the Harz Mountains. It was the domicile to a large Covenant of Verditius, Bjornaer, Merinita and Jerbiton Magi. The coventant belongs to the Rhine Tribunal, and has strong ties to the Domus Magnus of the Bjornaer and the Merinita. It also has close links to the mundanes of the region. Tools crafted by the Verditius are used in local silver and tin mines, and are found in the imperial palace in Goslar.
(d) The Cabal of the Golden Bee.
(e)Candlemas.
Character
Idonia is a plain and sturdy woman of average height.
Slightly dismayed by the bookishness of her peers at Conatus Sponte, she has come to appreciate the library, however her peers still leave her slightly dismayed. She prefers to learn through experimentation, including the study of raw vis. Her lab at Conaus Sponte is large and filled with vials and boxes of unusual matter collected by her locally and brought to her from further a field by the Saxon merchant Konrad Rothschild
