!!!Aura strength
It is my intention, following the events of 1362, to slowly decrease the non-Divine auras of Bretagne. Possibly one point every 50 years. Possibly faster. I want to give the PCs a chance to realise what's happening, though, so they can try to fix it.

*The Alignments du Carnac influence the aura. In particular, they strengthen it by drawing power from Queberon (sp?) (the fishing village on the peninsula - you know, where the silver mine is). That peninsula is the corpse of a giant, and the mine is in his head. The giant is forgotten, so the power emmitted is not necessarily faerie. So far, the silver mine has not adversely affected the aura.\\
*The stones (Alignments) are, according to one legend, a Roman legion that the faeries (or a wizard) turned to stone. We don't know why they were arranged to draw power from the giant - perhaps a soothsayer/Mercurian wizard used them in a ritual to defeat and contain faerie power in the region, confining it to the forests and leaving the coast free. Possibly the channeled power also prevents oceanic faeries from messing with the land.\\

The aura varies greatly in strength, presumably as a result of the line of stones binding the giant to the covenant.

!! Background Information
''This page contains information relating to Conatus Sponte. Much of this information is not known to the characters. Be so warned.''
Information on this page is here so that we have some kind of internal consistancy. Some of the information is true (because it has already affected events); some will probably be cool ideas that can be changed (and will be marked as such).

!!!Locronan
The group is (was) not Merinita, but a collection of (mainly) Ex. Misc, Bonisagus, and a couple of others that I forget. Anyhow, they formed as a fusion of ideas from the Faeries book and the Mysteries book (and as a useful antagonist). Hence they learn a variety of "Faerie Magic" which allows them to draw on the power of their patron. \\
I decided that, even if they aren't quite aware of it, Merinita do the same thing. Their patron is that Quendalon chap, who for my purposes was a changeling (as suggested in HoH). I haven't decided whether Quendalon started human, or was just masquerading as one. Obviously (from the Im advantages of Faerie Magic) the Merinita patron Quendalon was a bit of an illusionist.

The Genius Locus is likely to draw attributes from this past. It may well manifest as a giant (as far as spirits have size), and is probably bound in a more obvious way than the average G.L. The patchy aura suggests that the spirit has been distorted, and may well be quite mad. The forced blend of faerie and magic and the confinement and rigidity imposed by the Alignments probably account for this.
